Sew Patchy

My beautiful nana taught me to sew as a child but it’s only now, in my thirties with my own home that I appreciate handmade home crafts as they all have a story to tell.

Growing up, I wasn’t particular interested in sewing, but I would always show interest in what my nana was making and would help her – when I felt like it! (Typical teenager).

As my nana got older, she gradually lost her sight and was unable to continue sewing and crafting and her sewing machine sat at her work bench gathering dust when one day I asked her if I could borrow it – and I’ve never looked back!

I made bags, cushions, even a simple patchwork quilt and nana provided me  with her knowledge and expertise as much as she was able to with her deteriorating sight and I always  showed her my completed makes to check it passed her high standards.

Unfortunately, in November 2014, my nana passed away at the grand young age of 87 but before she did, she made me promise I would never stop sewing.

So this blog is to share my journey through sewing and showing my makes which are all available to purchase.

I’m still very new to this sewing lark but really have caught the bug and look forward to continuing to learn such an amazing skill!
